Motion Metrics Announces Third Year of 30%+ Revenue Growth at Annual General Meeting

Another Exciting Year

Last week, Motion Metrics held its 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The two-day event was planned months in advance and attended both by local Vancouver employees and our international staff from Chile and Southern Africa.  There was much to celebrate – the final numbers confirmed that Motion Metrics has exceeded 30% year-over-year revenue growth for the third consecutive year!  We now have a record number of service and support agreements and will continue to successfully execute our business plan.

Equally important was the opportunity to ensure alignment between divisions and demonstrate accountability.  By measuring our progress achieved on last years’ goals and agreeing on a common vision for the company’s future, we can reflect upon our successes and lessons learned as a team as we prepare to march to a unified drum beat in the year to come.  The Motion Metrics workforce has doubled since 2013, so establishing formal channels for intra-organizational knowledge transfer has become increasingly important.

Research and Development

The first day of our AGM was held at the University Golf Club in Pacific Spirit Park and saw our Research and Development teams announce an organizational restructuring to accommodate the rapid growth we have accomplished in recent years.  We are now aligned to both support our increasing and sophisticated customer base as well as retain the flexibility needed to develop the next generation of innovative AI-based solutions.  The first day ended with beach volleyball.

Sustainable Revenue Growth

The second day of our AGM was held at the top of Grouse Mountain and saw our Business team announce revenue growth of 39% and present a cascading scorecard measuring our financial and operational performance.  Although we have exceeded revenue targets for four continuous years, the Business team stressed the importance of not taking success for granted.  Continued growth requires an organization-wide commitment to strategic objectives and disciplined measurement of the key performance indicators we set to measure them.

Expanding Operations

Finally, the surprise announcement – the opening of our newest Motion Metrics office in Perth, Western Australia to accommodate client demand in the region.  Our updated mindset at Motion Metrics is “Think Global, Act Local.”

Fiscal 2018 has been another successful year for Motion Metrics and our team feels incredibly fortunate for the customers, employees, and leaders who have made our achievements possible.  We would like to thank our clients for making us the industry-leading mining technology company we are today!  We will go out of our way to ensure all of our customers are happy.

The second day of our AGM was held atop Grouse Mountain.  Although the morning skies were filled with fog and wildfire smoke, the afternoon cleared up and we we were treated to an amazing view of the city and ocean, reminding us of our long-term vision.
